What You Need To Know About Your Spirit Guides

It’s all so confusing, right? Especially if you are beginning to explore the spiritual world. The truth is – it’s not at all confusing; it’s only people and too much information that make it that way. That was what I didn’t like when I first got involved. It doesn’t have to be, it can be simple. My goal is to help people see that it can be simple and fun.

The first thing to know is: you are not alone ever. Your spirit guides are always with you, and there is absolutely no rule, fact, or guideline. It is merely spirits around to help and guide you. Sometimes, in my experience, they can even just be witnesses.

What About Human Guides?

I never see anyone ask this question, do we have human, living spirit guides? I would say yes, but I believe personally they have a specific purpose in our life, and often don’t stay once that is over. Some might call these Karmic Partners, but I tend to disagree.

I believe karmic partners live out a lesson with us, but human guides tend to either teach or witness events or cycles in our lives.

So, who are our spirit guides then? Our spirit guides are versions of ourselves, past and present. Spirit guides are our ancestors. Spirit guides can also be strangers or representatives of an energy that we need at a particular time in our lives. Some call that angels, based on your personal belief.

What Are Their Names

That is always an interesting question to me. It is much like intuition, in that you don’t really need to know and often won’t, but you can ask- if you are open to receiving it.

Activating Your House

Your house is a living thing, and yes, a spirit guide even. No one in my house ever loses anything. I did ask my house what its name was and I did get an answer. I treat it with love and praise. Yes, I talk to my house. I express gratitude through words and offerings, like items from the earth or flowers, for allowing me to share the space. Whenever anything is lost, all I have to do is ask the house where it is, and I am always directed it to it.

Connecting With Spirit Guides

The very first thing to know is that you have probably already connected or been contacted by your guides. Whether you know it can be the level of openness you allow yourself to experience. It is a good idea to practice connecting with energy. If you stand with your hands shoulder length apart, you can feel the energy move between your hands- even at one point, the way you move your hands can shape the energy. Once you practice this for a while, you can receive and send energy.

You absolutely must believe! That is key. Ever notice how you get message after message in your sleep? Usually around 3 am as well, that is when our mind-body-spirit is the most open. That should tell you how powerful stillness and meditation can be.

Every day I welcome my guides to my day and thank them. Gratitude can be the gateway drug to everything you desire. This will feel weird at first, but start having conversations with them. You can even ritualize your times with guides, especially if you don’t want them around all the time.

Light a candle during these times you contact them. Talking or writing is usually the best. Write a spirit letter with any questions or concerns you have and put the paper under the candle or your pillow, and be open to the answer.

I have been asked in the past, How do you know it’s the answer? The truth is, it will just come to you randomly, much like ideas do, or you may see it just about anywhere. That differs somewhat from angel numbers.

Angel numbers, which are series of numbers like 222 or 333, usually come as a heads up depending on what you are thinking or worrying about at the time, so be sure to check in with yourself at the time. For instance, if you are thinking whether you should do something like move or change jobs, it is possible 333 or 444 will appear to you to tell you it’s supported or the right path. If it’s not a good idea, you may see 666, which indicates the need for balance.

There are also symbols you may see from the Universe or spirit guides as a heads up such as sunflowers indicating joy or angels indicating clarity or protection. Of course, butterflies are change, ladybugs are good luck and the list goes on. Once you put the glasses on, you can’t unsee it!
