Before You Get A Tarot Reading
Tarot is immensely popular and has really been so since the 70s, it has been around way longer than that. Today though, you see it everywhere, especially with the rise of awakening we have been going through married to the rise of video.
There are some things you should ask yourself and consider before booking a tarot reading. Tarot by itself is just a deck of cards, a spiritual tool for the reader. Though it is a magical experience or feels like it, the experience you are getting is with the reader and that’s something to keep in mind.
Tarot readers are connecting to the energy, anyone involved, and the spirits we can’t see. Everything is energy. We are not reading minds, we are responding.
Time in tarot is a loose concept, we can try to predict a timeline but more often than not these things unfold in their own time.
Let’s Get The Not So Good Out Of The Way
Please don’t take this personally as many of you may fall into some of these, hopefully, it gives you a reason to examine some things.
-
The Skeptic
I don’t suggest it if you aren’t sure whether you believe Tarot is real because no matter how they try to help it really won’t.
-
Validation
I tell people often not to look for evidence. It is wonderful if a reading matches up with your intuition but not if you are looking for backup to suspicion.
-
What You Want To Hear
Never ever base a reading on what you want to hear, sure, there are readers out there who will tell you what you want to hear and nothing is more damaging, we must be open enough to hear the truth and accept guidance much like therapy.

Let’s Get To The Good Stuff
What is great about it is how it can connect you to truths about yourself, your life, your career, and the people around you that either you didn’t know or didn’t want to know. Tarot can show you not only how far you’ve come but the work that still needs to be done.
It can be very calming. To this day I am not even sure why, shuffling the cards or watching a reading calms me.
One thing I love about it is how it can show you the wounds in a gentle way. Common sense and logic often won’t allow the shadow to be seen. Tarot also gives you ideas and suggestions on every corner of your life.
Since tarot works off of nuance it will never tell you exactly what to do but sometimes seeing the ideas and possibilities allows us to make much better decisions and get ready for things opening up to us. I would say 10 years ago the intuitive side to me was dormant so Tarot is a friend to me, the cards talk to me in their way and have led me toward an existence I wasn’t even aware I needed.
What is magical is when your healing journey happens in an entertaining, joyful way filled with creative expression!
